A Brief Introduction To Queshan County
Queshan county lies in the south part of Henan Province.
governing 15 towns and villages, having a population of 490,000, people
with its total area of 1,701 sqllare kilometers.
The four seasons of Queshan county are clearly distinguished. It has
adequate rain and moderate climate with advantageous natural environment.
Queshan has attracted numerous investors with the fine environment and
abundant resources.
The reserves of mineral resources in the county is abundant . The county
can be rated as “the building material base of south Henan Province”.
More than 40 kinds of metallic and nonmetallic mines have been proven,
among which the reserves of granite is 462,000,000 Cubic meters and marble,
520,000 Cubic meters. Both the reserves and the quality of limestone and
fluorite are the first in Henan Province. The reserves of other mineral
resources are up to 10, 900 million tons, which shows a vast range of
prospccts for mining all these resources.
The industry is developing very quickly in a large scale in many fields,
such as building materials, printing, paper-making, machinery ,textile,
etc.
The agricuture, forestry and animal husbandry are flourishing. There
are all kinds of crops here. It is the important base of the farming and
animal husbandry production of Henan Province. It is also one of the bases
of China for producing grain, tobacco, and vegetable oil. The forestry
of the county occupies an area of 960,000 mu with reserves of 1,300,000
cubic meters of woods. The county is famous for its high-quality Chinese
chestnut and lean pork at home and abroud.
The county has splendid culture, many places of historic interest and
scenic beauty. Zhugou Town is honored“Little Yan'an”, where a lot of veteran
revolutionists once worked. Some other places of interest are: Boshan
Lake, Ancient Beiquan Temple, Mount Le, the Memorial Hall of the National
Hero Yang Jing-yu and so on.
The couty has good transport facilities and good infrastruture, Jing-Guang
Railway, State-run High-way No.107 and Beijing-shenzhen Expressway pass
through the county from north to south. Highways link up all the towns
and villages of the county. It also has one airport and four railway stations.
Past and telecommunications are highly developed. The power and water
supply of the county is sufficient.
